Stir Coffee House

COFFEE HOUSE AND CAFE
DELTA, BC

The owner of Stir built his coffee house where his family’s grocery store used to stand. Just as that was a welcoming place for the community in its day, Stir has become a much-loved place to celebrate friendships, family, and coffee in the heart of Ladner Village.

Stir Coffee House is a favourite with locals and visitors to Ladner Village Market, who enjoy the selection of fresh-brewed coffees and steeped teas in Stir’s warm and inviting atmosphere. The café is a strong supporter of “local”, sourcing their coffee, tea and baked goods from BC businesses, supporting local causes and events, and responding to early pandemic closures with home deliveries by bike!

THE ASK

When the owner of Stir went looking for a community partner who understood both the market and the need he served, he found Indalma. From working together on charitable causes, to creating artwork and apparel for the business, we’ve consumed a lot of steeped tea while partnering to support the place where we live and work.

THE WORK

Like many small, single-owner businesses, Stir knows its brand and offer, but doesn’t have a team that can provide expert marketing advice. That’s where Indalma comes in – in addition to designing mugs, t-shirts, and apparel for the shop, we act as a thought partner, providing feedback on everything from events, to the in-store customer experience, to menu design and traffic flow.

Most recently, we helped Stir brainstorm ways to celebrate and build anticipation for their 10th anniversary. We had the owner pull photos from his years in business and organized them by year and theme. Then we built a series of social posts leading up to the anniversary date in September. We also designed a “10 Years of Stir” sticker that went onto takeout cups, but the real star was the limited-edition mug that we custom-illustrated. It tells the story of Stir’s favourite memories over the last 10 years and is an ode to friendship, community and coffee!
