Pajo’s Fish and Chips
RESTAURANT CHAIN
METRO VANCOUVER, BC
On a sunny day, locals and tourists alike flock to one of Pajo’s waterfront locations to enjoy an order of cod and chips under one of their iconic yellow umbrellas.
Pajo’s is a well-known BC restaurant brand with four locations throughout Metro Vancouver, including one at YVR airport. Family-owned and operated since 1985, they were the first fish and chip chain in the Lower Mainland with 100% OceanWise certification, and they are famous for the freshness and quality of their meals.
THE ASK
Indalma has collaborated with the Pajo’s team since 2012, helping them to develop brand assets as they have grown from one location in Steveston, to four restaurants across the Lower Mainland.
THE WORK
While some of the print and digital design work we do for Pajo’s – such as food wrappers, apparel, and social media content – is consistent across locations, menu and signage design are unique to each location.
At Pajo’s busy Steveston Wharf location, Indalma’s challenge was to create a menu design that would increase user-efficiency. But at Vancouver airport, non-English-speaking tourist traffic created different challenges, with a need for more visuals on the menu panels. We also created menu overlays for use across the chain to promote seasonal items.
Our team is always thinking about ways to make the Pajo’s customer experience even better –including the colourful mural now decorating the Steveston Wharf location.
