BGC Engineering

BGC Engineering is an international consulting firm with offices across North and South America and the Caribbean. Their team of 600 professional engineers, geoscientists, technicians, and support staff have unique expertise when it comes to the impacts of geology on engineered structures. They provide specialized engineering and geosciences services for projects around the world – from the pre-feasibility and design stages, to construction, operation, and closure. 

THE ASK

BGC serves a wide cross-section of clients, from provincial governments, to mining companies, to the transportation industry and individual communities. The company was well-regarded for its specialized expertise and solutions, but the brand’s visual identity had not kept pace with its growth. Indalma was asked to help BGC increase its brand recognition by creating a full set of brand assets, along with a brand style guide to ensure their new visual identity was consistently applied at all touch points. 

THE WORK

Indalma built on the company’s existing logo and minimal colour palette to create a suite of assets that added vibrancy, visual depth and interest to the brand – from graphic patterns based on topographical maps, to a new hierarchy of fonts, to fresh primary and secondary colour palettes. We dove into the company’s extensive photo library to show how images could be used to add energy to the page, evoke an emotional response, and illustrate the dynamic nature of BGC’s work. Indalma also designed a template, so that when each sector submitted a Statement of Qualification (SOQ), their proposals appeared cohesive and clearly represented the professionalism and integrity of the BGC brand.
